** NEWS UPDATE **
Well, after what will be 7 years of being custodians of The Half Moon it is time to announce that Donna and I will be leaving at the end of this year.
Despite the challenges faced by pubs, especially rural independent ones, we have enjoyed our time here and are leaving The Half Moon in a healthy position and ready for the next people, with the right skills and enthusiasm, to write the next chapter here. It could even be you!!
We are proud of what we have achieved and being able to leave our footprint on our ‘local’ pub which has held so many memories for us, and our family, over the years but the time has come to pass the baton on so to speak.
I would like to firstly thank, my wife, Donna for supporting me on this venture I couldn’t have done it without her. I would also like to thank my team, past and present for the support and hard work they have provided especially Richard, my head chef who has run the kitchen with great skill, hard work and dedication. During my time, you have been looked after by many in their first jobs and what they may have lacked in experience they have made up for with hard work and commitment to ensure that we have been serving our customers with our communities very own young adults and they should be proud of what they have achieved.
I would also like to thank you, my customers and friends. It has been a pleasure to be here for you and get to know you over the last seven years. Hopefully you will all continue to support a new owner to ensure The Half Moon continues to play a pivotal role in local life as well as offering a warm welcome for visitors to the area.
We have now announced our festive plans (see above). This may be a tricky period for us to negotiate but it would be great if you could support us to the end of our time here.
